President Trump has broken his silence following the revelation that his niece, Mary Trump, plans to publish a tell-all about their family.

“She’s not allowed to write a book,” the commander-in-chief told Axios in an interview published Sunday evening, citing a nondisclosure agreement she signed almost two decades ago.

“You know, when we settled with her and her brother, who I do have a good relationship with — she’s got a brother, Fred, who I do have a good relationship with, but when we settled, she has a total … signed a nondisclosure,” he continued.

The agreement itself is a “very powerful one,” Trump told the outlet, adding, “It covers everything.”

According to the president, he and members of his family were blindsided last week when news of the book came to light.

“I have a brother, Robert, very good guy, and he’s — he’s very angry about it, but she signed a nondisclosure agreement and she’s obviously not honoring it if she writes a book. It’s too bad,” he said.

Trump said he continues to have a good relationship with his niece’s brother, who recently came to visit him at the White House.

“I actually had him — he was in here. He was sitting right in the seat where you are last week, unrelated to that. I didn’t even know — maybe two weeks ago. I didn’t even know about a book coming out until just the other day.”

The Daily Beast was the first to report on the NDA between Mary and her family last week, saying it was signed as part of a 2001 settlement that stemmed from litigation disputing the estate of Mary’s father, Fred Trump Jr., after his passing.

The agreement prohibited her from publishing anything about the litigation itself or her relationships with her uncles Donald and Robert Trump or her aunt Maryanne Trump Barry.

After news of her new book broke last Sunday, the president had entered into discussions with his private lawyers about his options to respond.

One source told The Daily Beast that Trump’s lawyers have been looking into what could be done in terms of legal retribution for the book, though he did not address this when speaking to Axios.

The outlet also reports that the younger Trump will out herself in the book as a primary source behind a published New York Times investigation into the president’s taxes.

News of Mary Trump’s book emerged last weekend, when publisher Simon & Schuster unveiled its title, release date and description.

Titled “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man,” Mary Trump’s book is slated for release on July 28.

“In this revelatory, authoritative portrait of Donald J. Trump and the toxic family that made him, Mary L. Trump, a trained clinical psychologist and Donald’s only niece, shines a bright light on the dark history of their family in order to explain how her uncle became the man who now threatens the world’s health, economic security, and social fabric,” a description for the book reads.
